petert531 Posted December 7, 2006 Share #1 Posted December 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Last week's work got ignored. Hope this is more inspiring. Limited touch up. I am thinking I should have had two backlights. Peter
Advertisement Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Hi petert531, Take a look here Anna. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted December 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted December 7, 2006 Peter - Very interesting having her put her arms out behind her and rimlighting the near arm, as well as highlighting the rear of her hair. I find that different and effective. On a purely personal note, I prefer her look to that of some of your other recent models.
robert_parker Posted December 7, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 7, 2006 Peter I'm not totally sure about this one - it has a touch of the Salvdor Dahli's about it - it's not the lighting but the perspective I'm struggling with. Having said that, I suspect many will like the unconventional aspect.
brunom Posted December 8, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 8, 2006 Peter A fine image - a second rim light may have been better ? Reminds me of the carvings that they used to put on the bow of ships! Bruno
petert531 Posted December 8, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted December 8, 2006 Everyone always prefers the slavic models (she is Ukranian) LOL. I will probably shoot this again slightly differnently another time with a modified lighting setup and a variation on the pose. This was a spur of the moment thing. Overgaard Posted December 8, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 8, 2006 Peter, Would it be possible for you one day and take a shot or two of the model and your lighting setup. I find the light very interesting.
petert531 Posted December 8, 2006 Author Share #10 Posted December 8, 2006 I'll do that sometime but... Never the same twice! THis one is a side light box up on the right, down 45 degrees and a fill from the left. Umrella straight up, back down into the floor. I worked at about a 3 to 1 ratio. What I will do tomorrw is bring a light from up front using a 10 degree grid (honeycomb in UK) and get a catchlight. Trick will to be the correct power setting not to spoil the mood but get a catch. I am thinking -3 stops as well. We'll see. Peter
stuny Posted December 9, 2006 Share #11 Posted December 9, 2006 Peter - My only objection to the closeup is the fuzzy focus on the hat, hair and torso. By the way, she is prettier from the front 3/4 than in the near profile.
petert531 Posted December 9, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted December 9, 2006 Just fooling around with blur in PS to try to pretend to be Large Format with tilt and shift. I won't print it like that. Peter
PhotoArchival Posted December 9, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 9, 2006 Really like the lighting and skin tones in the first shot Peter. The left arm reaching back is a bit weird to me. I kept thinking it ws her back... The last two shots I enjoyed also with the third my favorite. Always enjoy seeing your model shots in different degrees of lighting. Keep them coming. stuny Posted December 9, 2006 Share #15 Posted December 9, 2006 Bruno - Of course my keyboard misspelled, leaving off the "f" in figurehead.
