jsrockit Posted January 4, 2010 Share #22 Posted January 4, 2010 I just don't trust Samsung in this field.

nigelb Posted January 4, 2010 Share #24 Posted January 4, 2010 I would never buy a camera from the same company that made my fridge who's ice maker has never worked right, or made the television that literally blew up on me just after its warranty expired. I'd buy an X1 though.....
Guest stnami Posted January 4, 2010 Share #25 Posted January 4, 2010 You must have got the early adapter m8 models
peterb Posted January 5, 2010 Share #26 Posted January 5, 2010 Looks like a Lumix G1 or GH1 with an APS-C sensor. Nice execution. Nice new alternative. The lenses are probably on a par with Panasonic's. An f3.5- whatever zoom and an f2.0 pancake (at least they got a somewhat fast fixed focal length to start). No doubt it has decent AF and superb EVF (Samsung's contribution I suppose). Samsung has done well with their association with Pentax just like Panasonic has with Leitz. Like every other photographic carrot now dangling in front of me these days I guess I'll just have to take a we'll see attitude before getting any further jazzed up. I'm still favorably disposed to the X1 but ultimately I'll decide when I have it in my hands, see just how it feels to handle it and decide whether or not it'll do for my needs. ...to be continued. h00ligan Posted January 5, 2010 Share #27 Posted January 5, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm a hard sell on certain ergonomics as I have relatively unique hands. I actually prefer my old canon rebel xt to the newer line because in their zeal to shrink it they made the critical error of shrinking the grip... but i realize not everyone has a spindly 11 inch hand span. (that's a guess, but it's probably around that) - somehow though, some things that are small aren't hard to hold - this looks like it will be, so I'd rather the larger version. Perhaps that's why i like the dl4 and am drawn to the x1 - no built in grip means nobody telling me where i *should* be holding it.
contaxgary Posted January 5, 2010 Share #28 Posted January 5, 2010 High ISO leaves a bit to be desired. Just looked at sample of piano.. lots of noise, but tough subject.
giordano Posted January 5, 2010 Share #29 Posted January 5, 2010 Stmani, don't forget... 25mm front to sensor distance.. PLENTY room for a adapter for R and M lenses. An M-mount adapter seems very unlikely. The NX register is 25.5mm according to DPReview, so the adapter would be about 2.5mm thick - but the M mount itself is more than 5mm thick. So an infinity-focus adapter could only be made if the NX throat is wide enough for the M mount, i.e. 45mm or more - which doesn't look the case from the illustrations on DPReview. Adapters for SLR mounts, no problem of course.
adan Posted January 5, 2010 Share #30 Posted January 5, 2010 Take a look at the comparison of viewfinder sizes here: Samsung NX10 Hands on Preview: 5. Body & Design: Digital Photography Review and you'll see why the NX10 is already an also-ran (IMHO).... ...and why I am really glad I got the Panny GH1. I knew its finder was big - but almost as big as a 1Ds?! And thus bigger than a 1D, 5D or D700? Yes!
grober Posted January 7, 2010 Share #31 Posted January 7, 2010 Just another Asian camera with lots of fiddly buttons (built for small fingers!) and a thousand unwanted functions. And, as already stated, it's UGLY! Hasn't changed my desire for the X1 one bit. -g

Nicoleica Posted January 13, 2010 Share #33 Posted January 13, 2010 I'm just waiting for somebody to post a photo of one with a 'Leica' nameplate & logo, and the 'NX' exchanged for an 'R' or an 'M'. :D

Riley Posted January 14, 2010 Share #35 Posted January 14, 2010 IQ will probably save or sink this camera... better add the EVF quality and AF performance to that Imants

Stelyn Posted January 15, 2010 Share #37 Posted January 15, 2010 better add the EVF quality and AF performance to that Imants I am under the impression that the NX10 will be class leading (for a short time at least) in these areas. If the X1's previews were as positive about the focusing as the NX10's, Leica could have packed up and gone home for the day. Job done.
