Advertisement Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Hi Gentleman Villain, Take a look here How hard is it to get a new 0.85 MP?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Finnkare Posted January 1, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 1, 2010 I don't know, actually, but I suspect that it's easier than finding a used one. And I'm not trying to be a wise ass . My guess would be the á la carte program. Probably it's available from the factory if one cannot find a dealer. I don't know if a dealer can be found from abroad. I think there's some threads about ordering an á la carte MP.
earleygallery Posted January 1, 2010 Share #3 Posted January 1, 2010 Aren't they now only available via the a la carte program? You might find a dealer with one in stock or a demo he's willing to sell - all the official dealers are listed on the Leica website.
twittle Posted January 1, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 1, 2010 I think they're only available à-la-carte, though I could be mistaken. Mine took about six weeks, but that was back in early '07; I have no idea how long it would take at present.
RITskellar Posted January 1, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 1, 2010 Go to Leica's configuration website, and it will tell you what your nearest dealer is for placing the order. Takes 6-8 weeks to receive it, though usually a bit less. I would imagine that some, if not most dealers will take your order over the phone/via email, if one is not in your town. That's what I did. fbf Posted January 2, 2010 Share #6 Posted January 2, 2010 Too much money to throw. I have to admit I have been searching for a used one for quite some time with no luck. They either sold for as much as a new one or they were bought before I could blink.
Gentleman Villain Posted January 2, 2010 Author Share #7 Posted January 2, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks everybody. That answers all my questions...it looks like my local dealer would probably be as good a place as any to order from...
Photon42 Posted January 2, 2010 Share #8 Posted January 2, 2010 Do these only come by special order? If so, how long is the wait? Any recommendations for a good shop to order from? Thanks for any info There's one of the non-à-la-carte 0.85 MPs listed at eBay from a Spanish Leica dealer. No relations whatsoever. Don't know the dealer at all. Leica stopped quite a while ago the production of 0.85 MPs, probably, when they launched their à la carte offering. From time to time, one of the older ones pops up. peter_n Posted January 2, 2010 Share #9 Posted January 2, 2010 If you think looking for a 0.85x is tough you should try looking for a 0.58x!

rsh Posted January 3, 2010 Share #12 Posted January 3, 2010 Buy the .72 and use a 1.25 magnifier for the 50 and 75 and a 1.4 magnifier for the 90 and 135.

Regards Ivo Sold. I was looking at the camera, but didn't know if an 0.85 was too much for glasses. Foolishly sold an MP to fund some SLR equipment. I'm now selling the SLR stuff and going back to rangefinders. What was I thinking?
