How about this? Cropping may move it away from snap-dom.

My Mum, thinking about my Dad just before he had to go into hospital to have his shoulder joint replaced, having dislocated and broken it slipping on the ice last week.

Andy, not a snapshot by any means - one for the people forum. I hope your fathers op goes well and he recovers quickly, must be extremely painful.

Dismal failure.

No, both rubbish.

This is how it is done.

I walked on the canal today (only after checking with "the man" how thick the ice was). This little chap was on top of a barge.

LOL, you guys are hilarious. I'll show you how to take an amateur snapshot.. just sit tight! oh soo many bad ones.. which to post which to post. ok here we go. I actually like the effect, but the iso was too high and I'm sure most of you could have made more than a snapshot out of this.

I think this is called a refraction box.

How about this one? As I am on it I cannot claim any eternal fame for taking this work of art I'm afraid.

But maybe taking this with a M8 means that it is not eligble anyway?

Anyway Merry Christmas to all :D

For those of you who are wondering what is going on in this thread... I had become appalled by some of the shots which were being posted across the photo forums and, despite being absolutely awful, were receiving glowing praise. I thought that if we opened up a place to get these photos out of our collective systems (for one month only) then we could, from now on perhaps, raise the bar a little.

I started a sister thread on critique, suggesting that rather than just give meaningless praise, or ignore shots completely, we could try to be more honest. This has attracted a rewarding amount of positive response.

Please be advised that normal service will be resumed here, in Barnack's Monthly, from the 1st of February; so do make the most of the opportunity to show your snaps here and after that date be prepared to face advisory comment from we, the people.

As "contre-jour" went down so very well a couple of months ago, I'm considering a reprise of that subject but perhaps with a wider remit- what do you think, folks?

btw; thanks for your splendid contributions over the past months. :D
