troyfreund Posted December 29, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 29, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Just wondering if anyone in the SE-WI area has a Leica R 15mm lens they'd be willing to rent out for a week or so? I'd really like to try this lens out with my DMR, but have no idea where to find one that I could try out. Any leads are much appreciated. I'd like to try it out, to see if I should start saving up my dollars for one. Thanks again, Troy

leicamann Posted January 2, 2010 Share #2 Posted January 2, 2010 Troy..in the meantime..why not start saving for the premium of the R lenses..the R F2.8 15mm Super Elmarit ASPH..they hover anywhere around $5500 to $6,000 ..I know its very expensive... just get a piggy bank..label it "my dream lens" and put whatever you can aside every month into the Piggy Bank or a "Piggy Bank savings? Any thoughts? Cheers, JRM http://www.amazon.com/Leica-Aspherical-Super-Elmarit-R-R-System-Wide-Angle/dp/B0002C9ZVG this one is on the higher end..I've seen "mint" at about $5200USD
troyfreund Posted January 3, 2010 Author Share #3 Posted January 3, 2010 Yeah, the Elmarit version would be amazing, I bet, but is so far off and to be beyond the horizon line. The only reason I'm interested is because I sometimes need to shoot interiors and my 19mm isn't always wide enough on the DMR.

A left-field suggestion: wouldn't taking 2 or 4 shots with your 19 Elmarit and stitching them with PS or other proprietary software be a less-expensive (and lighter) solution? Pete. rsh Posted January 4, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 4, 2010 The Super Elmar is half the price and as little as you plan to use the lens, it would work. Though not the Elmarit, it is no slouch, I am certain.
