Saving files

sRGB is the "dumb web" limited color profile, also sometimes used in printing. Saving and processing should be done in aRGB or similar. The transition from a higher colorspace to a smaller one is lossy and destructive. It is not possible to restore the original color space from sRGB, so once you are in there you are stuck.

Naturally I save my .dng files, but from then on I save as .TIFF 16 bit in aRGB like Jaap does. That is my base file for all other resizing and post processing. Sometimes I change to sRGB for web JPEGs but I think its not often I see a difference in colour between the two, and I mostly post in web forums in B&W anyway. I also submit to online agencies and they want JPEGs in aRGB as well, so it simplifies my workflow keeping it all the same.
