steve70 Posted December 22, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, Just received a new D-Lux 4 and noticed on the Leica site that there is a new software upgrade for it. Can some one please tell me on how to go about doing this? Do I plug the camera via the supplied USB cable or what? I am using a Mac OS X The downloads page was not helpful at all. Thank you

melissah Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2009 im pretty sure that you do it this way. download update to you desktop. format a blank sd card in your camera. put sd card in a CARD READER not the camera. put the card reader in computer open sd card and on the top level drag and drop the update to the sd card. making sure you have a fully charged battery, insert card into camera and turn camera on. follow prompts. after update is complete. turn camera off then on and re-format. you should be go to go. best, melissa
delnerdo Posted December 22, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2009 It's pretty simple: 1. Recharge battery fully 2. Download any images off the SD card to your computer 3. Reformat the SD card via the Utilities menu (Menu->Setup->Format->Yes) 4. Drag the bin file (not the zip file) onto the card in your desktop. (If you don't see a bin file, double-click it in finder to unzip) 5. Eject & disconnect camera 6. Power cycle camera 7. Confirm new firmware installation on camera (Start Version up?->Yes) 8. Verify new version is 2.2 (Menu->Setup->Version Disp.) 9. Reformat the SD card as in 3. The PDF instructions are here: Leica Camera AG - Downloads (last item on list)
