pauledell Posted December 22, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 22, 2009 Dave, Nice shots. The first has great composition, colors and clarity as does the second which shows the true scale of the lift. That is an enormous machine. Thanks for posting. Paul

Sailronin Posted December 22, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted December 22, 2009 Hi Paul and Stuart, We see these Travelifts all over the world at shipyards. At first they were smaller and would only lift 50 tons but the new ones are HUGE. This one can lift 600 tons and the same shipyard has one on order that will lift 1100 tons! Below is a photo of a yacht in the slings, note the man near the cooling tower (the light cylinder on the ground). Thank you for the nice comments and thank you for looking. Merry Christmas, Dave
pinetar Posted December 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2009 My guess, $10 thou a lift.
Sailronin Posted December 22, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted December 22, 2009 Hi Gary, The boat in the slings in the last photo is 140 feet long and the charge is about $15/ft each lift so $30/ft for a haul and launch. Really not too bad when you think about it. Merry Christmas Dave

likalar Posted March 3, 2010 Share #13 Posted March 3, 2010 Great shots of this amazing machine! I had no idea they can be built so gigantic. It's a treat to see a skilled operator move these around with a gazillion dollar yacht in the straps. Thanks for posting these. Larry
