Guest guy_mancuso Posted December 6, 2006 Share #161 Posted December 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Us gals, better stand up and be counted. Female, been age 29 and holding for 18 years! About 2 years ago, Guy Mancuso showed me how to part with my money faster than I thought possible, and I started out with a nice collection of Leica R lenses on a 1ds2. Does that count? I've been a M7 user for about a year and a half, and have added an M8. Heidi There she is , i knew you were around somewhere. Sorry Heidi but i know your happy. photolandscape Posted December 6, 2006 Share #165 Posted December 6, 2006 Male, 53, saved up every nickel I had and worked hard and got my first Leica (used), an M4, with a 35m Summicron (used, $150) and a 90mm Tele Elmarit in 1974 (used), when I was a mere 21. From there, have used a Contax G2, Mamiya 645, Hasselblad XPan with all 3 lenses (wonderful camera), an M6, and most recently been using the Panasonic DMC-LC1 and a Canon EOS 1Ds with a couple of zooms (it's good, but not great). Tired--very tired--of lugging around heavy equipment when I travel, so hoping an M8 next year will be in the works.

osera Posted December 6, 2006 Share #167 Posted December 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) ... and in case I would have to give Steven K. Lee - the new head of state at LEICA/ AG - some advice I would try to convince him to focus more on the female LEICA user. Karl- You know that's pretty good advice. Are there more women Leica users out there but they just have better things to do than hang around internet forums? There certainly is no shortage of excellent female photographers. This is an interesting thread Karl, thanks for starting it. Just to add to what you said- I now count three women out of 135 posters. Total average age is 49.1 .
