eritho Posted December 19, 2009 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) After waiting for nearly three month, I got the call from the retailer yesterday morning: "Your M9 is here". You can't believe how fast I went to town and picked it up! Now it's here, and it looks and works just fine, as far as I have tried it out with some pics from the snowy garden. Only claim until now is, it don't like my Kingston 4 GB SD cards. It works fine with some very old Sandisk 2GB cards. When inserting the Kingston cards it just claims "Attension. No SD card". Anybody had the same experience? I realize I have to buy some new cards, but what kind? Anybody knows what works and what not? Now this is a smaller problem and I'm sure I'm going to love that camera. Just look on the files it delivers!!! //Erik

250swb Posted December 19, 2009 Share #2 Posted December 19, 2009 Congratulations on your new camera. I have been using a SanDisk Extreme III 16gb card in mine without any problems. Hope that helps. Steve
Leicakillen Posted December 19, 2009 Share #3 Posted December 19, 2009 SanDisk Extreme III 16gb works excellent also for me. I don´t even think that the time for formatting is a problem. The 16 GB card has room for 840 images (DNG compressed) which actually is to big. I would prefer two or three smaller cards. My first thing to learn with the new M9 is to make sure you really turn it of. If you don´t do the juice in the battery will go away quite quickly. So now I have it in auto turn of mode. Otherwise I just love the camera and its images!! /Anders Täby

M. Valdemar Posted December 22, 2009 Share #5 Posted December 22, 2009 Your old 4 gig cards may be not be SDHC. The non-SDHC cards over 2 gig will not work.

chrism Posted December 22, 2009 Share #8 Posted December 22, 2009 Best Christmas present possible! I am also using Sandisk Extreme III cards. Leica says the Ultra II are the fastest, and checking on the Sandisk website, I see these have been renamed to just the 'Ultra' with no numerals. I haven't found them for sale anywhere else other than Sandisk's own site. Likely with new firmware the faster cards will perform better.
