I, easily have room for 3''x12" of camera in my pocket. If, you have a problem with the size of the X1, maybe, you should invest in a purse. Cheers.  I hate to think about what size pants you wear. Maybe the gang banger style down to your knees and real baggy!  Personally, if I'm not wearing a suit I'm wearing Wrangler jeans and a T shirt or boating shorts and a T shirt. I'm not so much of a geek that I can't enjoy myself without a camera around my neck every second. When I'm out with my girlfriend, she doesn't want me just stoping every two seconds to make a photo. However, it is nice to have the camera just in case. So, that's when a pocketable camera comes in handy. Â That's my situation except substitute wife for girlfriend. I wouldn't want this brick in my pants. Â well at 6'5" I think I could probably fit the x1 into my pants pockets - but not in skinny jeans! I'd probably opt for a different carrying method though! Technical justification is somewhat ambiguous to me, too. Business: the most expensive elements of digital cameras are the lens and sensor. You'll have to buy a sensor with each lens. How can additional lenses be sold competitively against cameras with with normal interchangeable lenses? You are largely buying a whole new camera for each focal length. Curious.  Technical: Closed box (dust free) is a solid (if minor?) improvement and image quality should be optimized with the lens/sensor combo, but how much improvement can you expect over the existing lens/sensor pairs? I guess we'll see.  - Charlie  Could/would Ricoh make either an APS or 35mm size module which could take M interchangeable lenses? Clearly we can't decide like this, because by the time Ricoh might make a new set of lens/sensor, then equally Leica can make X2 with a different lens, or maybe lens+teleconverter. I had two Ricohs, and both were excellent- you can literally stick one in your shirt pocket. And the lenses were excellent too. And all the controls are positive, and you can't knock them off setting. I used to use them for boating articles, IE canoe, and believe me you want unobtrusive for that ! Never had a duff shot, instant availability- what more could you ask ? and all for £500 with a superb viewfinder- no electronic stuff. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
