elansprint72 Posted December 4, 2006 Author Share #2 Posted December 4, 2006 Having problems learning PSE4 !! What I was going to say was.... is there too much blur, not enough or does it require more? I have always considered flash photography a bit of a black art, I don't like pin sharp shots which freeze out all of the motion, so I'm trying to strike a balance. Here I think it requires a bit more blur. Any advice? Cheers, Pete. 46 years since I inherited my first Leica and still a beginner!).
wide.angle Posted December 4, 2006 Share #3 Posted December 4, 2006 I like the image. There is plenty of blur to demonstrate speed, the amount will be a personal taste. If the image were blurred much more, one may lose the effect of the current blur on the words above the cyclists, which both shows speed and provides a sense of place. jmr Posted December 4, 2006 Share #4 Posted December 4, 2006 Pete, it's a good shot, in my opinion. I agree with Scott about the blur, I think you've got it spot on.

stuny Posted December 5, 2006 Share #8 Posted December 5, 2006 Pete - Terrific just as it is. Now let's see if you can repeat the feat, thereby ensuring that you have the technique down.
rob_x2004 Posted December 13, 2006 Share #9 Posted December 13, 2006 Second synch, crouch and pan I guess. But can you do that with the camera? Guess the problem with that is you have to be close enough that the flash illuminates the rider but not the track, which you expose at slow shutter.
