16mm 2.8 Elmarit R

It's a good lens and can produce excellent images. I had one once but after a couple of years it was used less and less so I sold it. Then I missed it when I needed it ... so I bought a Minolta 16mm and a Minolta body for half the cost of the 16mm Leica R lens. They both have the same lens module.

Expecting some flack now from those who might say that Leica made their version to better QA standards.

Cheers

Ben:

I do have this lens and do use it, although on an occasional basis only. My lens is a "very used" specimen with appreciable mount wear (loss of black anodizing, scratches on mount, etc.) but optically pristine and I got it at a good price. As I use the lens only occasionally, I do not mind the cosmetic defects.

If you want a fisheye wide angle lens in your Leica R array, it is the only lens available. It will do things that no other lens can do, but you must know how to use it and accept that it will never be anything other than a "once in a while" lens. But the results will be unique.
