Very nice indeed. May i ask if you applied some sharpening in PP?

Thank you.

I only applied sharpening in LR, then Smugmug applies a little sharpening after resizing.

I shot the B&W JPG with Sharpening off in-camera.

when i opened the the full size jpg it has quite prominent horizontal banding..is it just my monitor?

Are you using Firefox? I have noticed that FF tries to scale the image down, and you will see some artifacts from the scaling. Just click on it to view at 100%, better yet, open up the image in PS or something. I do not see any banding at all.

The ISO1600 shot was probably pushed a little more in LR, but the grain structure is acceptable to me. Ok, so I am used to noise free ISO3200 with the D700/D3, but the M9's simplicity and directness are certainly a breath of fresh air.

I see absolute NO BANDING WHATSOEVER.. I have a calibrated Eizo monitor that is ruthlessly accurate with color.

I think people are always trying to find some fault or flaw.

In fact these images are EXACTLY what you SHOULD expect of Leica, they are beautiful , stunning and flawless.... they show clearly how Leica has seriously gotten into digital.

Its a beautiful combo, don't listen to the nay sayers, and IF or IF you didn't apply USM , it wouldn't make one iota of difference to me or detract from what I am looking at.

So congratulations, take good care of your Leica and make sure you carefully archive those beautiful shots.

Thanks for sharing

Cheers, JRM
