My M8 Problem

While shooting today with my M8 (has approx 2000 lifetime shots on it) everything seemed fine, but when I tried to open the files in photoshop I got a message "Wrong file type can not open". I had files on the card I shot earlier and those were fine. All the files seemed to be the correct size, etc. Seemed like a file index error or something. I put the card back in and tried shooting again and alll was fine. Anyone else have any similar problems? PS battery was fully charged.

I do reformat my card each time I clear it. By the way I was shooting raw not jpeg. It was a lexar 1 gig card that I have had for awhile. So maybe it was a card problem not an M8 problem. I will reformat it again and try it today. It was just a little scary since it seemed fine while shooting. I could see the images on the camera etc.

If you were shooting RAW, you would need either Capture One or Adobe Photoshop CS2 with the latest version of Adobe Camera RAW. You version of Photoshop or Camera was probably not the latest versions that support the M8 RAW files.

reformat it in the camera that you are going to use it in. This allows the camera to write a fresh FAT (file alocation table) that is supposed to do all the housekeeping on the card. If you don't reformat in the camera each time you load the FAT file can become corrupted and cost you images.
