ArtZ Posted November 18, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 18, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anybody here has tried the Spyder3 Elite (datacolor) display calibration? My X-Rite Colormunki Photo has stopped working today (broken is small pices... I let you guess who has walked on it...). I've read very good critics about the Spyder3 Elite, even if it's not a professional product, it's cheap (less than 200 €) and available at 500 yards from my appartment. Any comments? Thanks

jaapv Posted November 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2009 I use the Spyder 1 (the same gadget,) on my Eizo screen and find it excellent.
Max Alfy Posted November 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 18, 2009 Ditto here on iiyama CRT and HP LP2475W LCD, Spyder 2 is excellent.
dpattinson Posted November 18, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 18, 2009 I have used that device with both the bundled software, and the Spectraview software for NEC. Works fine, the only thing you might miss from your munki is that it won't do printer profiles, which I believe the munki does handle.
ArtZ Posted November 18, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted November 18, 2009 Thank you for the input. There're three versions of Spyder3: Express, Pro and Elite (Elite is the best and Express is the base version). Datacolor says that Spyder3 is 4 times more accurate than Spyder2. David, X-Rite Colormunki Photo does printer calibration but I've never used it. Datacolor offers also a version for display and printer calibration: Datacolor Spyder3Studio™ SR. I've bought the Spyder3Elite (the only version available) and I'm very happy with it. It took me just 7 minutes chrono to install and calibrate my display very accurately (6508 ªK / 2,19 gamma)
