Aging camera? With the discussed firmware items the camera would be a newborn one! Wouldn' t it be better, if we would ask, beg and pray in a panasonic forum? jankap Posted December 7, 2009 Share #44 Posted December 7, 2009 Why on earth would we do that? The Panny version has had the update for more than a month already...... I think, that the developments are not independent of each other. It seemed to me (I have the DL-4 only), that the differences in the part user interface between LX3 and DL-4 are minimal. But perhaps they have drifted away from each other in the mean time. Jan
kalina Posted December 7, 2009 Share #45 Posted December 7, 2009 Seeing that there is a 3 month gap between updates on the LX3 and D-Lux 4 leads me to believe that the two cameras might just be as wildly different as many people thought. For cost reasons, Leica could've simply used the same exact firmware program as Panasonic and we would've gotten our update by now, but apparently they didn't and that's why we have to wait on this so-called testing before we (Leica owners) get our update. It would be so very cool if our update gave us just a little more than the LX3 one so as to differentiate between the two cameras a bit more.
