Great lens, you'll love it. It has a 43mm filter size with a 0.5mm thread pitch on the filter thread, just like the v.1 and v.2 pre-ASPH Summiluxes. All Hoya filters seem to screw into it, regardless of thread pitch, but only some B+W filters screw in. B+W are still making some filters with both 0.5 and 0.75mm thread pitch, and luckily their MRC UV filter is one.

Yes, but I don`t think you can mount the lens hood with the B + W filter in place as it is too thick. At least it was in the past. What I did was take a new MRC B + W filter, remove the glass, and insert it into an old Leica E43 mount. Glass can easily be removed from the Leica mount without damaging the mount as there is a fastening ring you can unscrew, but you neet to cut through the rim on the B + W mount. In case you wonder why i bothered, the answer is that the coating on B + W is superior, besides Leica do not make E43 filters in black any longer.

Another approach is to have a screw-in type hood screwed into a filter that screws directly into the lens, which has a 0.5mm filter ring thread pitch. I like this Idea because it preserves the original hood. This type of hood is smaller, well made and cheap. It works fine since the lens is very flare resistant anyhow. I have used the filters on other lenses simply because they are less intrusive.
