Lost today november 13th (probably forgotten in a taxi from Charles de Gaulle airport, Paris around 5:30pm) coming back from Venice:

Leica M8 n° 3105167

Leica Elmarit 24/2.8 asph n° 03808896

Leica Noctilux n° 2854608 (vintage !)

Besides the sentimental value of the pics, I would appreciate finding the equipment back!

Thank you in advance for any hint on the whereabouts of the missing jewels!

Max,

You should contact "Le service des objets trouvés de la Préfecture de Police"

Le Service des Objets Trouvés de la Préfecture de Police : Comment y récupérer un objet égaré ?

Once I forgot all my Canon gear (1Ds, 6 lenses, flash...) on a Taxi comming back from Sydney and the taxi driver took it there.

I wish you good luck.

Max,

Sorry for the new !

If you forgot in the taxi, noted you the number of the taxi marked inside the car on the counter ? and what is the car ? Mercedes or other brands

Have you requested a receipt to the taxi driver ?

Otherwise made as said Artz

You can always go to a police station in Paris to ask them what to do

Henry

Check if any premises nearby to where you were dropped off, or even picked up from, have any video cctv coverage of the area that may contain the taxi details and even confirm that you carried the bag into the taxi. If they have, ask the owner not to record over it and if they wont give it to you they can at least secure it and show it to the police. Enquiries could then be made directly with the taxi driver. A desperate measure I know, but if I were you I'd be that desperate!
