During its history Leitz/Leica produced THOUSANDS of items... to make an example, the darkroom equipment in itself includes more than one hundred products... the Leitz filters for Leica lenses are more than 400 product codes, I seem to remember... You can find all these cataloguing informations in several well known books, and reprints of original catalogs (both prewar and postwar) are also available. To make just an example of a almost-complete listing... Rogliatti, in the appendix of his book "Leica, the first fifty years" elencated ALL the well known five-letter codes that were used for all Leitz photo-related equipment from Leica announcement (product code...LEICA... ) to the '60s: I never COUNTED them... but they occupy many pages in the book... But collecting the data is somewhat tricky. I am not intending to sell the app, but give it away for free. I see wikipedia has a few entries for lenses and cameras. I bought mine from Leica Milton Keynes when browsing their website in 2001 looking for a front lens cap for my Mk I 19mm R lens - they had one lens cap in stock. The book covers: Leica R, Leica M, Compact, Digital, Projectors, Binoculars, Scopes and Accessories for Discontinued Equipment - plus an Appendix Index with Code Numbers - and includes 7 pages describing the Leica S1 digital system ie the 36mm sq. sensor digital scanning camera - including use of its tilt and shift adaptor. It's an excellent book but I've not seen any on offer at dealers. There is currently an 86 page 'A4' size Leica M catalogue available with the Cuba boxing illustrations and it lists all current M cameras and lenses. Dealers might be able to source copies but I imagine demand might be heavy. Leica Milton Keynes sent me a copy after I registered my camera. Best wishes Mike B During the last eight or nine years since the 7th Edition was first published there have been so many new Leica products that a revised pocket book in its present form would be considerably thicker and could be well over 300 pages. However, by discarding the blank 'notes' sections beneath nearly every entry, a revised edition could have fewer than the 7th's 280 pages. So much has happened within the Leica systems during the last nine years that a revised or totally new pocket book is considerably overdue. If anyone is considering a new edition, please consider including schematic lens diagrams as well as the photographs of actual lenses - there is plenty of room for both if displayed horizontally instead of vertically.
