Pedro Posted November 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anyone owns, owned, held or saw a lizard skin camera? I am looking for impressions on lizard skin on black cameras (Leica à la carte) - how does it look and feel? Is it robust or fragile (e.g. scratches; humidity, etc.)? Thanks,

MattLain Posted November 7, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 7, 2009 forgot to mention: great in winter, gets slightly tacky, the grain is supportive. in hot or humid climates it won't have as much grip as vulkanite or the funny rubberised stuff on modern leicas. Alice MacRae Posted November 8, 2009 Share #9 Posted November 8, 2009 Like this: Be careful when crossing US/Canadian borders with a lizard skin covered camera! In general, you are prohibited from importing any items made from endangered species. This includes most products made from crocodile skins; lizards products from Brazil, Paraguay and some Asian countries; most snakeskin products from Latin America and Asia. You'll run the risk of being persecuted and/or your beloved lizard skin covered Leica M4-P confiscated.
