M10 won't be out until 2013. Maybe a M9.2 with a few upgrades like the sapphire glass, minor improvements and tweaks here and there like a slightly more quieter shutter. won't even be offered as an upgrade anymore. Get in line suckas!!

I am moving to the UK, my odds to get one of the first ones will be better there.

(even if I must bare with the food for a few years) ;)

I've applied for a job as a sensor cleaner at the Leica factory in Solms. Whatever the food, I can handle the beer.

I have stated many times and repeat here (with NO insight knowledge whatsoever) that M10 is going to be announced 10/10/10.....

That would fit a R&D schedule since M9 was put to bed, it would allow Maestro chip to be used, potentially a next generation sensor could be made available plus it would allow software fixes for firmware and profiles to be generated. Commercially Leica will need a follow on smash hit after M9 shipments have peaked, 10/10/10 is a hell of a marketing story.

I can see a M9.2 may be announced along the way but not sure what that would be in real terms.

I'd bet almost anything that the M10 will NOT appear in 2010. That's a development cycle that would be extremely aggressive even for Nikon or Canon, with all their vaunted resources. For Leica - who must allocate their much more limited resources very carefully - it seem enormously unlikely.

Even 2011 is a stretch, IMHO. But possible.

I'd put my money on 2012 as far more likely.

So let's see if I've got this right Frank. The M9 is currently back ordered around the world and will probably remain so into next year. The factory is reportedly working a double shift to satisfy demand. Yet you are suggesting that in the next 11 months they are going to clear that backlog, introduce a revised version of the M9, and then develop and release the M10.

Where will the resources for all of this come from? How many other manufacturer's have a release cycle of 12 months for their high end cameras?

I can just picture it: you and your food, both naked  Not an image I wanted in my head, thanks ;)
