Advertisement Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi Bill W, Take a look here M8.2 Warranty. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gerard Posted November 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2009 The warranty expiry date should be noted on your Leica Passport. Is it just for your info or do you have an issue with the 8.2?
stunsworth Posted November 3, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2009 The warranty expiry date should be noted on your Leica Passport. I don't think the cameras sold in the US have a passport.

Bill W Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted November 3, 2009 I had my M8.2 sold to fund an eventual M9 purchase but the buyer backed out die the the LED in the viewfinder not being in sharp focus. It has been that way since I took delivery and I just thought is it was my poor eyes close up. I have had the camer about one year. It needs to go back th Leica. Nicoleica Posted November 3, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 3, 2009 I believe that the warranty period is 2 years worldwide, but this should be detailed in the warranty card that came with the camera. If in doubt, I'm sure a quick call or email to Leica will confirm the period. Good luck.
john_newell Posted November 3, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I assume your camera was new - if it was refurbished, I believe the warranty period in the US is one year.

Thanks Nicole, I called Leica USA and they confirmed that the warranty is 2 years for the original owner which I am. I sort of thought it was 2 years since the M8 was as well. I did not think the M8.2 would have shorter warranty period.
