In general, I don't really like the harsh lighting flashes gives, but the result was... well you tell me! Thanks for viewing.
Advertisement Posted November 3, 2009 Posted November 3, 2009 Hi ezc203, Take a look here Orchids. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
mborkowski14 Posted November 3, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 3, 2009 Ahhh the phalaenopsis.. A beautiful shot, and the flash adds to the stark white of the petals. I actually have these orchids tattooed as part of a full sleeve on my arm, and they're part of my family's history, so I'm quite partial. Thanks for the great shot. - Matt
stuny Posted November 3, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 3, 2009 Lovely and fascinating effect, making it look like a magazine illustration.
allamande Posted November 4, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 4, 2009 I think it works (I never thought I'd say this about using flash). Ece
ezc203 Posted November 4, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted November 4, 2009 Thanks for the kind comments guys. I'm still cannot say I like flash. I mean, this photo turned out much better than I had hoped, but it still has that drowned out effect that comes with all flashes. But I suppose that's the problem of flash, perhaps it'll change after I learn to use the SF 24D better. Eddie

Mokkacream Posted November 5, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It looks definitely special. On my monitor the whites are blown out, making the flowers flat like paper. The shadows ad in fact some 3D effect, but are too hard in my opinion. The background is too close to the subject. Furthermore I can't find a resting point for my eyes in that composition, too. I do not want to offend you and I'm sorry, that I could not agree.
