audidudi Posted November 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) It's been ages since I brought a "serious" camera along with me on a hike, but I will have to do it again one of these days. I also need to remember to bring a flashlight, because hiking out in the dark was no fun, even with the full moon...

pauledell Posted November 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 2, 2009 Jeffrey, A great series. I really like the first two shots the most. Lovely subtle colors, sharpness and composition. The last one with the full moon is also exceptional. Paul

wda Posted November 2, 2009 Share #4 Posted November 2, 2009 Hiking in the dark? Now that does pose some questions. Lovely unusual set of pictures full of interest to someone whose local terrain is rather different.
audidudi Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted November 3, 2009 A great series. I really like the first two shots the most. Lovely subtle colors, sharpness and composition. The last one with the full moon is also exceptional. Personally, my favorites are the first and last (and one I didn't post here because it limited me to only four images); the third was really just a documentary snapshot and the second ... well, it's interesting, but overall, it ultimately misses the mark for me. Oh, well...
audidudi Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted November 3, 2009 A gorgeous set, and the color and detail in #1 are stunning. You might be a bit surprised to learn it was shot at f2 ... finally, I can achieve selective focus images again!
audidudi Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted November 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hiking in the dark? Now that does pose some questions. It wasn't that bad when the trail was smooth and firm, but when it became rocky and loose, I had to be very careful where I placed my feet lest I stumble and trip. Fortunately, I know the area fairly well, so finding my way wasn't a problem. Lovely unusual set of pictures full of interest to someone whose local terrain is rather different. Thanks! I've lived here in the desert for the 28 of the past 31 years and I continue to be amazed by the beauty that's so cleverly hidden in plain sight all around us... leicamann Posted November 3, 2009 Share #8 Posted November 3, 2009 Nice series..looks like the desert had more rain than usual this year? Thanks for sharing your photography here. Cheers, JRM
audidudi Posted November 3, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted November 3, 2009 Nice series..looks like the desert had more rain than usual this year? Just the opposite, actually. The summer monsoon season never really arrived this year ... it'll be interesting to see how this affects the wildflowers next spring.
