dkCambridgeshire Posted November 2, 2009 Share #1 Posted November 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have some outdated fridge stored Kodachrome 64 to use and want to be sure the mailers (which are for Deer Park Wimbledon - it is old film) are sent to the correct destination. When I checked a Kodak website it stated send them to: Kodak SA Case Postale CH - 1001 Lausanne Switzerland ... but the website does not mention any dates so not sure if the information is current. I'm aware that Dwaynes in USA is the only lab processing the film now. Do I send my films to Switzerland or would it be best to send direct to Dwaynes? Or is there another UK collection point? Thanks dunk
Advertisement Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Hi dkCambridgeshire, Take a look here Kodachrome Processing - UK mailers. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted November 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted November 2, 2009 Dunk, last time I checked you used the mailer to send the film to Switzerland, they then send the film to the Dwaynes, Dwaynes then sent the processed film back - not sure if it comes back via Switzerland or not. I'm sure one of our Kodachrome users can give you chapter and verse on what happens.
topoxforddoc Posted November 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted November 2, 2009 You send it from the UK to Lausanne (£2.64 by airmail small packet). They forward it to Dwaynes, who return it to Switzerland. It gets despatched from Lausanne to your home. You can still ask for the film to be returned unmounted and uncut. Just attach a note to the film; I did this last month for a roll of XPAN K64. Time for return is about 4-6 weeks.
dkCambridgeshire Posted November 2, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted November 2, 2009 Thanks Charlie and Steve - they have 1999 expiry dates so will be an interesting experiment to see how they turn out. And I might try a roll through my Mamiya 7 with the panoramic back if the film can be returned uncut. Cheers dunk
topoxforddoc Posted November 2, 2009 Share #5 Posted November 2, 2009 Dunk, If it's been in the fridge, it should be fine Charlie
elmarman Posted November 2, 2009 Share #6 Posted November 2, 2009 Today I got back on outdated (2003) K200 film from a lot of 9 cassettes I was given-- I sent it to Switzerland address £1-00 odd airmail postage and I used it at 250ASA in my 1986 M6 as the first one I used was a bit light-- I have another K200 loaded but not yet finished -- I sent film on 9th October. Now there is a series of Post strikes here in UK I am worried that film will get either lost or in the 60 Million back-log of items.
wattsy Posted November 2, 2009 Share #7 Posted November 2, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Dunk,If it's been in the fridge, it should be fine Even having been in the fridge, I'd imagine the film will end up with a strong purple cast by now - especially if it's the 200 variety. Time for return is about 4-6 weeks. Do as stated above. Send as many films at the same time as possible. Put each exposed film in its own envelope and then all into a big envelope and make sure you mark it "do not x-ray non-processed films'. I get mine back on average 2 weeks which is very good considering...
