Taken earlier this morning.

Such a shame, it's a foul morning here and I had to come back home to dry off. Really feel for the people in the cars, miserable conditions to drive to Brighton in such open cars, not to mention the kudos for taking them out in such weather!

Shot a roll of 120 on the 1903 Brownie but the light is so bad........ might go back out later if the rain eases off. These are a couple of shots with the panalux.

Thanks for the kind comments Andy & Louis, they are only a couple of grab shots - I should've upped the ISO and maybe got a sharper one!

I'd hoped to get quite a few shots of the cars today, was even thinking about driving down to Crawley or Brighton to catch up with them later, but the weather really put me off.

There's always next year of course.......

james,

actually i like your shots the way they are. normally these vehicles get photographed in museum-like conditions - polished, well protected from the elements and very static of course ...

your pictures express a lot of motion, even high-speed, which is kind of interesting given the age of these cars and their low speed (by today's standards). but maybe the engineers who designed those cars long time ago would be pleased to see them used in this way - challenging the elements and roaring along as fast as they possibly could ... :)

A few shots taken on the same morning with the 1902/3 vintage Box Brownie. First time I used the camera and it was a dark morning and pouring with rain, so the FP4 was quite underexposed, but even so I'm pleasantly surprised by the results! Exposure would be in the region of 1/50sec at f11.
