vertekijker Posted October 27, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Got mine last night. Driving myself crazy with 'testing' my new M9... - Does it sound louder than my M8u? Maybe it does just a little, but it seems to be more a matter of a different sound - the M8u has more of a 'one movement slicing sound', if that makes sense. The M9 is more of a sound composed out of different parts, but I imagine very similar in volume, if not a tiny bit louder. - Then been looking for any faulty pixel lines. - Then if the lens detection works well... - What else can I test? All the education I received on this forum about the new M9, plus my experience with a defective new M8 years ago is taking away some of the carefree attitude I used to have about playing with a new camera... On the other hand I'm glad I can check all these elements thanks to the good information from the forum mebers. Thank you, guys, Frans

chrism Posted October 27, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 27, 2009 Congratulations! Some of the minor irritations will go with new firmware - like the slow card formatting. Otherwise just revel in it! Chris

Overgaard Posted October 27, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 27, 2009 Congratulations! There's like a phase of testing and being very interested in every little ISO noise and sound, buffer time, blowing up pictures to examine sharpness and all - and then suddenly it turns into a tool that simply works and which you know well enough to know which possibilities you have with it. michali Posted October 27, 2009 Share #9 Posted October 27, 2009 Frans- Congratulations! I wish you thousands of successful shooting opportunities with your new camera. I was very fortunate to get my M9 two days after the launch and well before some of the negative comments appeared, some of which may be valid and others totally baseless. I went out and enjoyed the camera, and am still doing so. Please do this, go out and enjoy it, and don't waste too much time looking for stuff that may or not be wrong with it! I can tell you that in over 6 weeks of shooting with the M9 every day, I have yet to find fault with it, it is an amazing camera!
