jtank Posted November 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi I've had an MP for about 2-3 months now, and this evening the film got stuck. I couldn't trip the shutter, so I thought I had forgotten to wind the film. But when i tried winding the film it wouldn't allow me. I then looked into the viewfinder and found the LED working, which only hapens when the film has been rewound and ready to shoot. This was after 25 exposures had gone through very smoothly. Could anyone offer any possible explanation for something like this happening? Jehangir
Advertisement Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Hi jtank, Take a look here why would this happen?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest hammertone Posted November 26, 2006 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2006 This was after 25 exposures had gone through very smoothly. Maybe you accidentally bought a film for 24 exposures?
jtank Posted November 26, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted November 26, 2006 Joachim Are you clever, and am I dumb or what???? Didn't even bother to check when I got the film, but you're absolutely correct! Jehangir
Guest hammertone Posted November 26, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 26, 2006 Don't worry, mistakes like this happened before and will happen again. Enjoy your new MP. Best, Joachim

rick_dykstra Posted November 28, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 28, 2006 Maybe you accidentally bought a film for 24 exposures? Jehangir, Write out your description of the fault, leave the body as it is and send it in to Solms for repair, quick. They need a good laugh. I've done the same thing. masjah Posted November 28, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 28, 2006 Jehangir and Rick So have I - albeit with my R9 - yet another clanger to add to my cerebally challenged list. In my case they say I'm suffering from BSF (Benign Senile Forgetfulness - mostly harmless in this early stage). Actually, on a more serious note, at the time I took some good advice from a friend, who warned me that, if I'd pulled hard on the wind-on lever, and torn the sprockets, make sure there weren't any obvious tiny bits of film in the body - wouldn't want them messing up the shutter. frc Posted November 28, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 28, 2006 I know I'm rude, I once gave the transport lever such a push, before realising the film was at its end, I managed to cock the shutter. The result was a very nice double exposure. Hey guys don't try this at home, we're daft professionals
rob_x2004 Posted November 28, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 28, 2006 From the thread responses Jehangir, it looks to me like this thread is destined to stay at the top for a while. Stark reminder of the cross you have to bear.... :D :D

kdemas Posted December 1, 2006 Share #13 Posted December 1, 2006 I think more of us have done the same thing than we would like to admit! I have had some funny film experiences with my O-Series, but that's another thread. Enjoy your MP! Kent
