Best Regards, JJ Viau // Leica-Camera An old boss of mine produced one some years ago which was a little tongue in cheek which might seem apt. Business Bad, Times are Hard. Overgaard Posted October 22, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 22, 2009 Good idea. Christmas cards are challenging because the concept is so different from culture to culture. I've submitted the one photo I've used my self with best response Remember to submit only one. The rules say so, and the entries will be deleted if more than one is submitted (just mentioning because I saw one who had done it)
Mauribix Posted October 22, 2009 Share #7 Posted October 22, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Remember to submit only one. Thorsten, some they seem to ignore the rules (as usual)... I hope someone could remove the multiple posts before the final selections, that takes away visibility to many's work. That's a pity. Actually there's someone who posted up to 9 pictures! Apologies for the F word but I am quoting and somehow it seems to fit the sentiment well Ken, I may be mistaken but I thought you said you were a practising Bhuddist? Do they celebrate Christmas? Overgaard Posted October 24, 2009 Share #10 Posted October 24, 2009 Thorsten, some they seem to ignore the rules (as usual)... I hope someone could remove the multiple posts before the final selections, that takes away visibility to many's work. That's a pity. Actually there's someone who posted up to 9 pictures! If they follow the rules, the ones submitting more than one would disqualify them self and count as none pictures. Photo competitions are usually strict so normally one wouldn't e ben get the chance to remove the ones that are too many. I personally like the idea of having to choose ONE image which is always challenging. And you wouldn't send two or nine christmas cards, either. A_E_Darling Posted October 26, 2009 Share #11 Posted October 26, 2009 The rules also say no digital manipulation. I wanted to post a scan of a Kodachrome slide from my M6 90 Summicron. Strictly this will be digitally altered since my scanner makes 18 Mb TIFF files. Am I excluded for turning this into a JPEG of 5 Mb for mailing? Read the FAQ's. I believe they said scans are fine.

They refer to photomontage or digital manipulation - this usually means constructing or altering an image by adding elements to it. Digital post processing is a given as any RAW file or Scan will need to be 'processed' as well as sized and saved appropriately.
