jackart Posted October 16, 2009 Share #1 Posted October 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Heh, this should be really interesting item for R-lens owners. You can use these high quality lenses with GF1 rangefinder back! Focal multiplier should be 2,0? http://www.pixmania.com/ee/ee/3672836/art/panasonic/dmw-ma3r-leica-r-lens-mou.html
Advertisement Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Hi jackart, Take a look here Use for R-glass. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
integrale Posted October 16, 2009 Share #2 Posted October 16, 2009 This is one of several possible application for the use of R-lenses (other than on an R-camera, that is), but I'm not certain that R-owners will be entirely happy with the IQ of the m4/3 censor of the GF1 (BTW: GF1 is - strictly speaking - not a rangefinder). Thank's for Your opinion. Yes, there are out many full-frame application, including M9, also M8 with less size. But M4/3 is very attractive size and IQ is vest in class. I really believe that it beats R8 Digital Module. Isn't it? Jaak
mgcd Posted October 16, 2009 Share #4 Posted October 16, 2009 Thanks for your opinion, but no it doesn't in any way, shape or form. It is of absolutely no interest to me at all. Cheers,

Jaak I agree that it could be a good solution for some; the m4/3 may be attractive in respect of compactness, but at least for me at the expense of IQ. I use R-lenses on a Nikon D300 (with the Leitax conversion). And I think you'll find several on this forum disagreeing with you on the GF-1 solution being better than the DMR solution. I believe there is a thread here on that subject... But, nevermind - if it works for you, inter alia due to the compactness, then it is the better solution for you. I'm not questioning that. JHAG Posted October 16, 2009 Share #6 Posted October 16, 2009 I tried the GF1 with the Novoflex adapter (95 € instead of 235… ). With my APO 180, results were fair, only fair. Behind anything I saw with the DMR, and even behind the Digilux 2 for colour spectrum and density. I returned it. That said, it's a convenient stopgap solution for a small price. adan Posted October 18, 2009 Share #8 Posted October 18, 2009 I find the GF-1 to be kind of silly. I'm just not going to walk around looking like Karloff's Frankenstein with my arms stretch out in front of me to compose - with anyone's lenses. But the GH-1 does interest me - built-in EVF vastly superior to the add-on for the GF-1; variable sensor area (rather than crop) for different aspect ratios. Potential for Leica-lens video (M or R) as well as still work. Nice add-on to my M9 system for longer-than-135 work with either M or R lenses (I already have the M-to-M4/3rds adapter waiting in the wings.)
