Today I bought a used Summicron 28 ASPH and immediately noticed that the red dot on the lens - the one used to align when mounting - is of a different color than the Summicron 50 that I have. It is more of an orange color on the 28, and red on the 50. My speculation is that the red color has changed (bleached out) due to exposure to the environment. This sounds quite stupid but it's Leica so anything is possible. Anyone has similar issues? Any advices will be helpful!

Bought a new (used) M9 to replace my old one that packed it in, and it came with a scratch on the red dot, so I removed it to try and repaint it... then I turned to fire to help remove the old paint and ended up preferring the raw tempered look, so think I will stick with it for now! What you think... seen anyone do this before?! I'm sure it will divide opinions!

This may sound a bit weird, but my recently acquired (used) M10-R has a crooked logo. At first, I thought it was just me, but after comparing it to an M240, which I just sold to a friend, it's definitely crooked. There is a downward rotation from left to right. The rangefinder patch is also misaligned at infinity, which isn't terribly unusual, but the two issues lead me to believe that some work may have been attempted on the camera. The camera is otherwise, pristine. I'm waiting to hear back from the seller. But please share your thoughts as to whether my detective work is worthy of Hercule Poirot, or Chief Inspector Clouseau 🤔 Thanx!
