This loud noise appeared suddenly. I'm not sure if it has affected any other part of the camera, but I do feel like autofocus isn't working as well anymore... I've heard OIS can make sound it is normal, but this sound is NOT the same as the when i first camera. Originally it sounded crisp, now it was a gear grinding feel to it that seems.... Off... I've reseted the camera multiple times... Any insight on what to do? Camera is 2 week old. PXL_20211113_201644359.mp4 -
I already have a Leica Q2 that I enjoy very much and use mainly for my travel camera and street photography camera. I need now a camera for my YouTube channel and for my product photography so I need something with interchangeable lenses. I was thinking about continuing into the Leica ecosystem and get a used SL2-S Camera. The prices for these cameras are ok ("Leica-ok level") and it seems like a good camera. There is a catch here: I will need to buy the Camera AND the lenses and with that the price will skyrocket immensely. So, I know this is an emotional decision, but is it even worth to think about this? For less than that I can get a Nikon Z6III with a 24-70mm or 24-120mm lenses, or even other camera in the market with maybe better specifications. Maybe I just can use the Leica Q2... what experiences do you have with the SL2-S? What would YOU do in my shoes?

I recently picked up a Leica R4 with a serial number of 1603616 with a 50mm summicron-r with a serial number of 2039145, and I was testing out the light meter and noticed that the camera only meters probably when I pull the depth of field preview lever. I noticed that the camera only meters in f/2 unless I pull the depth of field preview lever. Does this only happen if I’m in manual mode? Also, could this be happening due to the lens being made before the camera? Responses are appreciated. -
Hi all- So, I'm confused about why the FN button, nor the top button, never keep the settings I set them to. I have zero need for a timer so I want the FN button to be User Profiles. Fine, I hold the button, select that option, and from then on out it works great. Now I turn the camera off and back on and it's reverted to Timer. Same goes for the button on the top of the camera. This happens 100% of the time, and it kinda cheeses me off that I have to remember to set it every time I turn the camera on. I just updated to the 5.0 firmware and this is still happening. Am I doing something wrong, or is the setting not supposed to be saved between power cycles? Thanks for any help, this is the only thing that's driving me mad when using the camera. Hello everybody, I currently have a Leica M2 and now I've been looking into the M5. I stumbled upon one for sale in my country, but I noticed in its photos that this particular camera has a strange metal part/piece in the front of the camera, right bellow the shutter speed selector. I asked the seller about it but he said he bought it like that and has no clue about what it is, he said he thinks it may be a support of some sort. I really don't know, but maybe it is something adapted there to prevent the user to change the shutter speed by accident? Just wondering about it. Apart from that, the camera is said to be working completlely fine. Has anyone ever seen something like this? Any guesses are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Hey, I'm a Sony shooter (US) with a client who has a special request for medium format ("look">resolution). I'd like to try the Leica system as the S has always intrigued me. However, this being a paid shoot & not knowing the system, I'd like to know that I have someone on set who has my back. How does one find a digital tech? Specifically, one who knows this (mildly obscure) system?
