One “dream” lens has kept a very special status of desire in my complex photographic universe was probably the first superfast lens, made by Teikoku Optical Industries of Japan back in 1953. Zunow 50mm f/1.1, a Sonnar derivate, was produced in small quantities and is considered a very rare collector's item today. The lens is highly sought after by vintage lens enthusiasts and photographers who appreciate its unique render. Zunow experienced financial difficulties, and the company eventually closed its doors in 1961, so not a lot is known about them (fun fact: they made their own Leica copy prototype called Teica, never shown to public), but their legendary lens changed the Japanese optical roadmap forever. POST IMAGES OF AND MADE WITH THIS LENS.

Our local Botanical Garden is rich in its variety of species and very attractve during the whole year. I go there very often because its near and a welcome source of inspiration and recreation. Since we are 4 weeks early this year every day is bringing new surprises. There is one corner where a few Japanese Maple trees are unfolding their beauty. Canon 5D MKII with Elmarit R 180 mm

While in Japan, I got me the ultimate Japanese Leica bag. It is a bag for the Leica S/SL system but looks amazingly universal. The bag was conceived and developed entirely by Leica Professional Store Tokyo. It holds a S/SL camera body and three lenses, it can also store a tablet, charger, batteries, etc. and is perfect for a big two M/dozen lenses setup. The front has a tag embossed with "Leica Professional Store Tokyo". The bag costs ¥60,500 (10% tax included) or ¥55,000 before tax. it reminds me of our old family Olivetti typewriter bag. The design is genius, cowhide leather combined with synthetic suede and red interior. Tested immediately, super comfy wear, and fully water (downpour) repellent & fast dry.
