About crossing the mighty Brahmaputra, the saying goes something like this: "If you cross the mighty river once, you have to cross it again." Flowing for over 2800 km from it's source in Tibet through India and Bangladesh, if your destination happens to be one of the Northeastern states in India where the mighty river flows, that could well turn out to be true. Anyway, it'll be an experience of a lifetime. As the ferry docks at one of the stops along its route to the island of Majuli, a large river island on the Brahmaputra, passengers wait as goods are unloaded. The bicycles come on board... ...followed by motorbikes ...and then the passengers, umbrellas and all.
