It took me 2 days to understand some of Leica's illogical design put into Leica T (T) menu (firmware version 1.9) If you want to set up your T with a cheap (Fotasy) Chinese made M-L adaptor to mount your M-lenses onto the T and manual focusing the lens, you will need to activate the image magnification feature to achieve your critical focus. There is NO focus peaking feature on the T (latest firmware version 1.9 in 2025 !). 1) Note that we cannot choose M (Manual exposure) if you want image magnification. 2) I choose S (Shutter speed priority) ( P, A modes are also permitted) on the Right dial 3) Move the Left dial slightly to turn on and then touch the top right screen the dial choices selections in order to map the Focus Aid to the Left dial. 4) Choose Focus Aid On in the displayed menu. 5) So now your Left dial is the focus aid (image magnification to 3X and 6X) for critical focus when you move the dial left and right as you focus manually the lens. Hope this help others who are perplexed by Leica T. -
Not sure if this has been asked before. I was wondering if there's a way to use Focus Aid magnification when shooting Manual mode on the T. I noticed there are two menus with 'F' and 'S' on the screen with Manual mode. 'S' with the right knob on the camera seems to adjust Shutter speed. I wasn't sure what 'F' program stands for since it doesn't do anything when I turn the left knob. I assumed 'F' is the f stop or aperture setting? I'm using M lens via M-adapter T and the aperture could be adjusted manually on the lens. Is there a way to program the 'F' (left) menu to be using Focus Aid instead like how it works with Aperture Priority or Shutter Priority Mode on the camera? Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! I got the T for a few weeks now and have been enjoying the camera so far. This is also my first time to use manual lens on a digital camera. Still learning the best practice to quickly do accurate manual focus on this camera. I don't own an EVF. Is it worth it to get one? I only own M lenses and none of the T's so far. I would love to get as much accurate focus as possible when doing street photography.

The original manual of the SL mentions menu settings for focus aid and subsequent assigning magnification to BL button (joystick) with toggle to 4 and 6 times. However on my Leica SL, after the latest firmware upgrade, this function is no longer available in this particular menu. Have I gone crazy or has this function indeed moved to another submenu?
