The prescription for my glasses (shooting eye - right) has been changed. It is great for general distance viewing, but is blurry when I look through my Leica M eyepiece. My old Rx is just right for the M viewfinder (focusing patch is clear and sharp). Old prescription was for sphere -1.75. (no other corrections) New prescription is for sphere -2.75. (no other corrections or changes) Assumption - since the difference between the old and new prescriptions is an added -1.0 diopter exactly, a +1.0 Leica screw-in diopter would be the correction I need for M viewing with the new glasses. Good assumption, or too simplistic?

I have acquired a Voigtlander +2 diopter eyesight correction 'disk' for my M240, which I believe will fit. This belief is based on the fact that I am told it fits the old film Nikon viewfinders, and from memory I believe the Nikon ones fit Leica. From memory I think I have to remove the original one and replace it. Can anybody confirm that: 1. I am correct; and 2. Is there an easy way to remove the original one short of taking a pair of pliers to it. Thanks, Gerry

I now own a Leica Q3 and am considering buying a new Leica M (either the M11P or the new M rumored to come out). I would like to buy the 35mm APO f2.0. I tried the M11 and the 35mm APO in my local Leica store. When I brought the images into Lightroom I noticed that the Lightroom profile correction noticeably crops and corrects distortion even on a high end fixed focal length lens. The images are beautiful and the colors are excellent. But honestly, I was expecting less software correction from a lens of this caliber. I have seen lenses with far more software distortion correction but I also have seen a lot less and would welcome comments. I am by no means an expert on lenses.
