pauledell Posted October 5, 2013 Share #4 Posted October 5, 2013 Wilfredo, An excellent shot with great composition, lighting and tones. I like the second version with the stronger contrast the most. Paul

wilfredo Posted October 5, 2013 Author Share #6 Posted October 5, 2013 Thank you all. This is a Leica Monochrom shot and I'm just beginning to see how well my usual PP work flow applies. I too prefer the second version for the same reasons. Staurt, Are you still doing 6:00AM walkabouts? :-)
Frank Sellitto Posted October 6, 2013 Share #7 Posted October 6, 2013 Advertisement (gone after registration) Blocked up hi lights and no shadow information adds up to below average night shots IMHO! ~f
wilfredo Posted October 7, 2013 Author Share #8 Posted October 7, 2013 Frank, You have a great photographic eye but it's all about the mystery in this shot. The strong contrast between shadow and light. I invite you to open your imagination, it's not always about technical perfection. Technical perfection can sometimes get in the way of a mood. Cheers! Frank Sellitto Posted October 7, 2013 Share #9 Posted October 7, 2013 Thank you for inviting me to open up my imagination. Lord only knows I have to work on that! Please don't confuse my critique for lack of imagination.
wilfredo Posted October 10, 2013 Author Share #10 Posted October 10, 2013 Please don't judge a deliberate choice for "blocked up hi lights and no shadow information" as below average. This is not a technical contest here and esthetics are a matter of choice. Had I wanted shadow detail this would be the camera to pull it off! Hope you have a good day (honestly). Who said anything about a technical contest. It is what it is and IMHO I don't find either image engaging and both are devoid of any "mood" and I don't need you to "invite me to use my imagination". (honestly). Good luck with the MM and remember it's just a tool
