PhotoArchival Posted August 28, 2007 Share #1 Posted August 28, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) A movie was being filmed about half a block away behind me. They kept us moving and no photo's allowed. I was just walking through anyway so no big deal. I took this, thinking the man and horse were just some 'extra' getting ready, and no one would mind. I thought wrong and was immediately harassed by crew members ...that they would get the cops to take my camera away. They said I needed a permit. I put my hand in my pocket and pulled out my permit for them to see. A MIDDLE FINGER. then walked away... People have been more paranoid lately. Thanks for looking! gareth_c Posted August 28, 2007 Share #3 Posted August 28, 2007 Well worth the trouble I think, it is a beautiful and somewhat surreal image. I like your permit too, I will have to get one;)
stuny Posted August 28, 2007 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2007 Amado - I suspect the issue wasn't law so much as they didn't want any "work-in-progress" photos of their project to make it to the Internet (too late) or fan magazines. Nice photo. Do you suppose the rider really thinks the horse will fit in the front seat? Will the horse insist on drving?
herbet Posted August 28, 2007 Share #5 Posted August 28, 2007 but I doubt you'd need a permit. I've seen a lot of people throwing that one out to scare eventual street photographers.
MrEd Posted August 28, 2007 Share #6 Posted August 28, 2007 Cool shot...no, you don't need a permit, unless it's on the grounds of a private or government property, and it's posted "no photos" Thanks for sharing. Ed. .

PhotoArchival Posted August 29, 2007 Author Share #8 Posted August 29, 2007 Thank you all for the comments! Gareth---Surreal also popped into my mind. The permits are cheap! I got it at a five finger discount! Stuart--I think the horse wants to be in control for a change! Herbert and ED---I have also been told the same thing on the buses and subways. I've given them a finger or two as well. Amado
