Alan Philpotts Posted May 30, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 30, 2009 Louis - Very nicely done indeed. A female large red damsel fly, I think. [Pyrrhosoma nymphula] Excellent. Regards Alan

biglouis Posted May 31, 2009 Author Share #7 Posted May 31, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks to all posters for comments. It is so much fun playing with the 90 Macro Elmar. Highly recommended as an entertaining and fruitful (no pun intended) lens. Incidentally, this is almost straight out of the camera. I did a little correction of contrast in LR but basically this is how this lens renders in bright sunlight. LouisB
Doc Henry Posted May 31, 2009 Share #8 Posted May 31, 2009 Yes very well done Louis...very nice shot Have you a tripod for this picture ?
biglouis Posted May 31, 2009 Author Share #9 Posted May 31, 2009 Yes very well done Louis...very nice shot Have you a tripod for this picture ? No, this was in bright sunlight and it was an opportunistic shot so no time for a tripd. I tend to shoot wide open because of the marvellous bokeh of the lens and at iso320 which I find makes little or no difference to the IQ. This was 1/2000 which allowed a good sharp picture without the tripod. LouisB

biglouis Posted June 2, 2009 Author Share #18 Posted June 2, 2009 Thank you all so much for taking the time to comment. This was very much a hand-held, grab shot. But it exemplifies how Leica kit brings it all together if you get framing and focus bang on. LouisB
