Venus and the moon

I think Stuart was asking if it took several attempts to get a sharp image, rather than whether the shot shown was a composite - if that's not the case I'm sure Stuart wiull say :-)

Oddly enough I noticed this myself on Saturday night, though Venus appeared to be a bit higher when I saw it.

Numerous attempts using the different parameters of the camera. Tried using the digital zoom to get closer but that was useless as expected. Had the vibration reduction on but still couldn't hold it steady enough below 1/50th sec. Tried increasing the ISO but too much noise. By taking the metering off the bright side of the moon, I was able to capture that level of detail. Certainly would have been sharper with a 400mm Telyt and a tripod but not too bad for a digicam...

Cheers,

Henry
