Advertisement Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here Warren Inn Dartmoor. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stuny Posted July 8, 2008 Share #2 Posted July 8, 2008 Keith - Too many members must be on holiday -- These excellent shots should have gotten a lot of attention in the last 12 hours. In #1 the grain works very well with the texture of the stucco walls. In#2 the depth, framing and selective focus help make it a winner. I also see that beer is more expensiver than petrol. roguewave Posted July 8, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 8, 2008 James, lovely, lovely, lovely light in #2. I'm not sure I'd have finished my drink, for wanting to see that glow. Excellent work.
azzo Posted July 8, 2008 Share #4 Posted July 8, 2008 James, #1 Excellent light, tonality, angle and presentation. #2 Nicely controlled...but the price is a bit too much
biglouis Posted July 8, 2008 Share #5 Posted July 8, 2008 James I like #2 a lot, a wonderful 'pubby' feeling is about the best way I can express it. Very nice composition, selective focus and processing. LouisB
earleygallery Posted July 8, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted July 8, 2008 Thanks guys. I found this link about the pub on Google The Warren House Inn - if you're ever in the area it's definately worth a stop. I'm surprised #2 came out, it was so dark in there and I just guessed exposure. I wanted to get the barman in the shot but I think he was shy. NZDavid Posted January 30, 2009 Share #7 Posted January 30, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Wonderful old lens, wonderful old pub. Real character is what is missing with so much modern technology. Lumme, I agree the price of a pint is a bit over the top. Three times the price of when I was there (80s, 90s...)
