kaethe Posted March 7, 2011 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Capturing some of the classic icons of Yosemite is not difficult, but to be camping there when over 18 inches of snow falls in the valley over a weekend is a rare treat. kaethe Posted March 9, 2011 Author Share #14 Posted March 9, 2011 Thank you to everyone for all of your comments, the third image is my favorite as well. RPS: We go to Yosemite every year in February, and fresh snow on the valley floor (elev 4000') and on the southern exposure walls is such a treat. When you visit, if you are there during the third week of April, you should see the dogwoods coming into bloom. K-H: The last image was with my D2 and, even though I love my M9, I am continually amazed at the results from the D2, plus it has that wonderful macro feature. I have just started digital B/W and I searched the forum for recommendations, techniques and hints and I decided to go with Silver Efex Pro 2. Paul: I just recently stopped using my Hassy 500CM, we moved and I no longer have my darkroom. I still think in B/W film. Garyp: Yes, but most of the days we were there it was snowing "too much", never thought I would complain about that! kaethe

marc_dufour Posted June 3, 2012 Share #18 Posted June 3, 2012 Maybe it's not difficult to capture these classic icons of Yosemite... I really don't know, I've never been there. But this one is a beautiful bunch of splendid images. The quality of tones, sharpness and composition, especially in the first and third ones, are something awesome. Thanks for sharing
likalar Posted June 3, 2012 Share #19 Posted June 3, 2012 I always enjoy revisiting this set. In any of my visits there, I have never come close to the beauty and quality of these photos. Yes, the area is a natural beauty, but the OP's skills and artistic talent as a photographer get very high marks from me. Thanks, Marc, for bringing these back for another look.
