Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 23, 2010 Share #1 Posted January 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Been out playing all week in the California rain, the M9 along with me have been soaked several times this week, not submerged, but fully wet all over from pouring rain, wiped clean in the car with a t-shirt. So far it is still working. 50mm 1.1 wide open at iso160 100% detail, I love the dirty bokhe (spelling?) of the Voigtlander 50mm 1.1 there is just a little noise in it. . Doc Henry Posted January 23, 2010 Share #4 Posted January 23, 2010 Hi Bo, I agree with Bixi and Ivan, nice picture and bokheh with M9 This is the deluge at your current I would like to know what would happen with a Summilux ? Regards Henry
pauledell Posted January 23, 2010 Share #5 Posted January 23, 2010 Bo, An outstanding shot with great atmosphere, composition and subtle colors. I've heard with all the rain you are having, the drought conditions will be reduced and the desert flowers will be sensational. Paul
Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 23, 2010 Author Share #6 Posted January 23, 2010 Thank you guys. Ivan, the first one is being printed. BTW there is ONLY one picture, the second is a 100% crop of the first one, showing a bit of the gritty bokeh of that lens. Thank you Bixi, that image is already on the wall.! Henry, Im tempted by a Summilux, though I think it will be nicer behaved than the Nokton, the Nokton vignettes wide open a good deal and have a pretty gritty de-focus which I at the moment kind of like. Paul, Thank you, We are already looking forward to the orange displays of California poppies, and for a couple of road-trips to Death Valley for spring flowers. This will be a great spring. . Mark Pope Posted January 23, 2010 Share #7 Posted January 23, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bo, I've come back to this shot several times - I really do like it a lot. It has a lovely restful, contemplative feel to it. Definitely one for the wall I think! Thanks for posting it. Best wishes Mark

likalar Posted January 24, 2010 Share #10 Posted January 24, 2010 Really nice photograph! It looks so 3 dimensional; I could step into that scene. Larry
250swb Posted January 25, 2010 Share #11 Posted January 25, 2010 Love the photograph. The shallow DOF coupled with the dull weather really does an air of the surreal. Steve

Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 26, 2010 Author Share #18 Posted January 26, 2010 Guys, Thank you so much for the kind remarks. I have a love-affair with Joshua trees, have photographed them again and again over the years, this was definitely one of the good ones.! The catch with the Joshua trees is the incredible fine details of the texture and leafs, all little spears, sharp lenses is a must, too many times I have missed a little and it just turn to mud for me. . vanhulsenbeek Posted January 28, 2010 Share #19 Posted January 28, 2010 Lovely pictures Bo! Proofs it takes some work to produce good content! Grad used for #1?
Bo_Lorentzen Posted January 28, 2010 Author Share #20 Posted January 28, 2010 Thank you Sander, No Grad, it was the day of perfectly balanced clouds and ground lighting. BTW.. the second image is actually a 100% crop of the first image, I just wanted to show how nicely the details rendered with the Voigtlander. .
