dugby Posted January 16, 2007 Share #1 Posted January 16, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) As promised some more D3/L1 samples, the OIS set on Mode2, on the L1 is absolutely superb. Here's a hand held shot in the Paris Opera area taken at night, last week. At ISO100, f3.0 and 0.62 sec. Welcome, dear visitor! jdlaing Posted January 16, 2007 Share #3 Posted January 16, 2007 Great shot. I'm using mine more lately just because of the OIS. My mind seems to work faster than my hands and I think that's where the camera shake comes from. Thinking about the next shot before pulling the trigger on the first one? John Maio Posted January 16, 2007 Share #4 Posted January 16, 2007 Agreed. I also use Mode 2 on my DigiLux-3 and made images that would otherwise been impossible (for shaky old me). I'm looking forward to more Leica-inspired "D" lens offerings in 2007 for this camera.
dwcolvin Posted January 16, 2007 Share #5 Posted January 16, 2007 I'm enjoying the OIS on the D3 a lot more than I expected, and look forward to an OIS ?-150mm lens. (as I said on dpreview, I'm not convinced of the long-term mechanical durability of the gyros and moveable lens elements, but that remains to be seen).
