geoffreyg Posted June 29, 2007 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here are some shots from the M8 and the 15 CV (mostly) going for a walk in Venice, late March. The 15 CV is great in the city as it allows for big capture, little need for backing up. Sometimes, the distortions work in your favor, too, altho you can get them out as well, by just straight compositions. The one in the church is in St. Marks - a silent shot from the hip. I think the green awing with black gondola was shot with the 28, and the people on St. Marks probably the TE, but the others are probably the 15. With no coding and a poor memory, these add up to foggy understanding. The colors and the general scope of this nifty lens are pretty satisfying. Most have no post-processing except raw to jpg in Aperture. Comments please?

stuny Posted June 29, 2007 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2007 Geoffrey - A very nice series of one of the most photogenic cities in the world. I especially like the frmaing and depth in #5. Let's see some more. BTW: Your rpofile needs updating to include M8.
farnz Posted June 29, 2007 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2007 Geoffrey, Excellent composition, especially the shot in San Marco, which leads the eye round the corners and is particularly Escher-esque. I think my favourite is the shot looking over the table with the red tablecloth and down the Grand Canal; the dof produced by the CV15 is outstanding and I feel as though I'm standing where you were. geoffreyg Posted June 30, 2007 Author Share #4 Posted June 30, 2007 Thanks for the kind words. The shot in San Marco was taken from my lap in a no-photo zone. I kept waiting until the powers-that-be slipped behind a column, or were out of the room. Of course, one wishes for the M2 silent shutter.... but it still worked. Amazing the colors that little lens finds to look at. The door elevation shot (#1) is part of a series of shots about composition. The 15 CV lens is great because you don't have to back up far to get good things to look at. The shot down the Grand Canal is one of my favorites too. Here are some more!
