Torquinian Posted August 29, 2014 Share #1 Posted August 29, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have recently bought the lens second hand at a good price, but there is no lens hood. It was originally sold with a hood. [11204] Any ideas where I could get one or a substitute?
Advertisement Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Hi Torquinian, Take a look here 28mm Elmarit-R Series 1,. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dkCambridgeshire Posted August 31, 2014 Share #2 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) According to the Leica Pocket Book 8th Edition the 28mm Elmarit-R has a Series 7 filter thread but I just checked mine and found that not to be so … none of my Series VII (Series 7) accessories fit the lens e.g. Series VII Elpro. The bayonet hood I have is the 12509 which has VII stamped on it … but maybe that refers to 'drop in' filters secured by the hood? The actual front filter thread of the Mk I 28mm R lens is 48mm so if you can source a 48mm wide angle hood it should fit. Alternatively, use a 48mm to 49mm stepping ring 48mm to 49mm Step Rings | Step Rings | SRB-Photographic.co.uk with a 49mm wide angle hood. And just noticed there are three Leitz 12509 hoods listed on Ebay .. and three listed in a well known 'Leica Shop' in Austria dunk Edited August 31, 2014 by dkpeterborough
tobey bilek Posted September 1, 2014 Share #3 Posted September 1, 2014 Ser 7 go in the rear of the hood. There is a small rubber O ring in the hood to rotate pola filters. My experience has been only Leica branded ones have the exact diameter to be rotated. Others are a shade too small.

Hugh 38 Posted September 14, 2014 Share #7 Posted September 14, 2014 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have managed to break a hood by picking up the lens by the hood and not the body , so be careful as it is easy to grab the hood . I have repaired the hood .
