My M240 seems to randomly revert back to the default user setting which is set to shoot in jpg mode which is really annoying especially when I don't realize that has happened and end up shooting a ton of jogs instead of DNGs. I tried changing the image quality in the default user setting to DNG but it keeps going back to jpg. Has anyone also experienced this? Any solution? Thanks

Well, there's some sarcasm over in the thread pointed to by lct ... but in fact, the camera does not really go into Stupid mode all by itself. Instead, the user profile menu is designed to activate the built-in (stupid) 'Default Profile' whenever no profile is active and the user enters this menu and then leaves (or intends to leave) without actually choosing one of the profiles. So the user sometimes activates the Stupid mode without intending or realising it.

If you enter the user profile menu and then want to leave without choosing any of the options then you'll need to be very careful not to choose the dreaded 'Default Profile' by accident.

Also hitting the 'Reset' option on the main menu's last page (just above 'Format SD Card') will activate the Stupid mode.

hmmmm - well thanks, at least now i don't feel so, ugh, Stupid ::-)). But i really think mine goes in and out of the S mode randomly - i don't think i hit the reset box or go into user profiles without choosing- my generally mode of operation is to choose User ! and leave it there-- now i have to neurotically keep checking the user profiles each time i turn the camera on to make sure i am in one of my user profiles which are all now set to DNG or DNG and JPG. I hope they fix this very SOON - do you know how i can register a complaint with LEICA??? i was in Venice for a shoot last week and half the images are dreaded jpgs - urg........ i don't remember this ever happening with the M9
