AB007 Posted August 28, 2013 Share #2 Posted August 28, 2013 Hi Saad, Which adapter did you use? Regards, AB
Saad Posted August 28, 2013 Author Share #3 Posted August 28, 2013 I used the Novoflex Lens Adapter for Nikon Lens to Leica M Camera the price for which is $293. regards
jaapv Posted August 28, 2013 Share #4 Posted August 28, 2013 Your lens is Leitaxed? Whilst I certainly know various cameras that have easier to focus screens than the M EVF, I agree that it is quite adequate and enables us to get shots like this consistently. I would say it is minimally front focussed though, optimum focus is on the shoulder. But that is splitting hairs and does not detract from the image. helged Posted August 28, 2013 Share #5 Posted August 28, 2013 Hi Saad, Which adapter did you use? Regards, AB Slightly on the side (or should I say on the longer side): Leica 280mm f/4 APO-Telyt-R and Novoflex R2M adapter on M240 works like a charm. Still waiting for the promised R-Adapter, though.
james.liam Posted August 28, 2013 Share #6 Posted August 28, 2013 I recently took this picture at the San Diego Zoo. There is no other camera which could provide you with such a precision focusing capability than the M 240. Perfect focusing with this camera is a certainty. Saad Nothing is a certainty. Try doing what you did in twilight with this first-generation Olympus-built EVF. Good luck with that...

jaapv Posted August 28, 2013 Share #8 Posted August 28, 2013 Nothing is a certainty. Try doing what you did in twilight with this first-generation Olympus-built EVF. Good luck with that... It is not Olympus built. Both Olympus and Leica buy them from a supplier in China.
Saad Posted August 28, 2013 Author Share #9 Posted August 28, 2013 Dear jaapv, yes the lens is leitaxed and I would say that I am not aware of a full frame camera with EVF that I could use with my R lenses. With regard to the accuracy of my focus, I would say that optimal focus is right on the eye, and the attached actual pixel picture is just for you But I could understand why you thought it was off slightly. I think it has to do with field curvature, but thank you for taking the time to analyze the photo. Welcome, dear visitor! james.liam Posted August 28, 2013 Share #10 Posted August 28, 2013 It is not Olympus built. Both Olympus and Leica buy them from a supplier in China. Either way, it is a limited device and the newer Olympus EVF, presently unsupported by Leica, does a far better job.
Saad Posted August 28, 2013 Author Share #11 Posted August 28, 2013 Yes james the newer EVF is better, but it is not available for now, this does not mean that EVF2 is not effective. There is no way I could not do this with my Nikon D800.

jaapv Posted August 29, 2013 Share #18 Posted August 29, 2013 I've always maintained that in wildlife photography manual focus is often preferable.
