I am a fairly new member here and have enjoyed back and forth, the information freely given, and the photographs...wonderful resource and entertainment.

Vorsatzlinse 1,2, and 3 have come my way (Elpro, Elpik, and Elpet). They are mentioned a few times in various threads here but only passingly. I would like to know more about their application...any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum !!!

In this forum - Wiki area - you can find some infos HERE : http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.en/index.php/ELCAT

They basically are a set of close focus lenses made to fit onto the standard 50mm lens of the early Leicas (the famous Elmar 5 cm f 3,5) : no much to add.. the trio provides 3 different ranges of focusing, and the focus has to be set with "mechanical" aids to measure the distance, having not any way to "couple" to the Leica rangefinder (and, by the way, they were made BEFORE the Leicas with rangefinder were made); after the intro of rangefinder coupled Leicas, Leitz made more "smart" (and complex)accessories for close focusing (NOOKY and similar)

Mr. Bertolloti

That is the information I needed...distances for use.

Mr. Braconi

It is those pictures of the lens that assured my purchase.

thank you both

... So you just need to find a BEHOO :)... neither rare nor costly (example : leitz BEHOO | eBay).

It can seem a rough device, but as all Leitz accessories is far from being trivially made...;)
